H.E. Ms. Nancy Bakir is the High Commissioner for Arab Civil Society at the League of Arab States. She was earlier Minister of Public Sector Reform and the Minister of Culture in the Cabinet of Jordan. Prior to that, she held the positions of Assistant Secretary General at the League of Arab States for the Social Sector and was the Acting Secretary General Assistance for the Economic Sector. She has held a number of positions including Advisor to the Prime Minister of Jordan for Human Rights, a member of the Educational Council, Secretary General of the Ministry of Administrative Development, Acting Secretary General for the Higher Council for Science and Technology and many others. H.E. Bakir holds a Masters degree in Philological Sciences/Former Soviet Union, and a Masters Degree in Peace and Diplomacy.
