The Inaugural event in Singapore, the first ever in Asia, was held on 2 April 2012 with the theme “Ethics in Business and Leadership, The Time is Right, Now!” The conference, organized by the World Forum for Ethics in Business (WFEB) in partnership with the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) welcomed more than 100 delegates from various sectors and backgrounds. It sought to examine whether business and ethics are complementary or contradictory, and explore new ways for business leaders to evolve leadership styles that are sustainable, yet profitable for their organizations. The conference also examined the need for a paradigm shift: from motivation through salary perks to inspiration through shared vision and common values.

The paradigm shift is making these challenges to turn into an opportunity for a better world, and a global family. See the whole world as one human family and what is the best thing we can do”, he added.
The panel discussion saw a vivid exchange on the topic “Ethics in Business” between Mr. Kees Storm, Board Member of the VUmc Cancer Center, Ms. Anja van Bergen from Nutreco, Ms. Truus Valkering from Tata and Mrs. Rajita Kulkarni, President of the WFEB.
