Every year, the WFEB invites nominations for the Ethics in Business Award, in the categories of “Outstanding Individual” and “Outstanding Organization”. Winners are selected by the Board of Directors of the WFEB based on the following selection criteria.
Selection Criteria: Outstanding Individual
1. The nominee has inspired people, inside as well as outside his or her business enterprise, to observe and practice human values, and to give equal, if not greater importance, to human values vis-à-vis material commercial values. Human values include sincerity, integrity, friendliness, a sense of belongingness, compassion, non-violence, respect for mother earth and the natural environment, and service to humanity.
2. The nominee is a recognized leader in corporate social responsibility and has consistently and widely articulated his or her views on the crucial significance of an ethical foundation to corporate governance.
3. The nominee leads a business enterprise that is authentically appreciated by the immediate community or communities where the business enterprise operates.
4. The nominee has nurtured and sustained a successful international or transnational business enterprise, and, with this success, has clearly acknowledged the validity and tremendous role of human values in the age of globalization.

1.
