Mr. Sutirtha Bhattacharya is the Chairman and Managing Director, Coal India Ltd. Prior to this he was the Chairman and Managing Director of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited. A Physics graduate from Presidency College Kolkata and an IAS officer from the Telengana cadre, Mr. Bhattacharya has vast and varied experience across different government sectors and positions. He was also Collector and District Magistrate of Prakasham District and Principal Secretary (Energy), Government of AP.
