Dr. Kiran Bedi is an Indian politician, social activist, former tennis player and the first female officer in the Indian Police Service. With a distinguished career of public service, she runs two non-profit organisations that bring education and self-reliance to thousands of marginalised rural and urban communities. In addition to her many professional accomplishments, she was the Indian National and Asian Tennis Champion. Dr Bedi received a degree in English Language from the Government College for Women in Amritsar, her Master’s degree in Political Science from Punjab University, Chandigarh, and holds a degree in Law (LLB) from Delhi University.
