“Ferragamo Group is increasingly devoted to charitable donations in order to achieve two objectives: promote Italian culture (with a focus on art, cinema and music) and support charities for women’s and children’s health, as well as many other non-profit, non-governmental organizations with long-term plans for the use of donations. My father, Salvatore Ferragamo, always saw fashion and culture as inextricably linked. He always sought – and found – inspiration in the work of the most eminent artists of his time. At the same time, he always had a very humanitarian approach, was always thoughtful to his employees, carried out humanitarian activities, and showed respect for people’s integrity, dignity, self-respect and human rights. Our daily creative process inevitably entails the necessary search for Beauty: beauty opens your heart, lifts your spirit and encourages meditation.”
The daughter of Salvatore and Wanda Ferragamo, Fulvia Ferragamo Visconti was born in Florence, Italy. After earning a degree in Classical Studies, she specialised in Art History and Literature. She later moved to Milan with her husband, Giuseppe Visconti, a lawyer. They have four children. In 1970, Fulvia joined the family business, designing silk products and starting the Men’s and Women’s Silk Accessories Department, which she continues to supervise today. She also oversees the company’s interior design projects. She is currently Vice President of the group’s holding company, Ferragamo Finanziaria S.p.A., as well as on the board of directors of other Ferragamo companies. Fulvia Ferragamo Visconti is also involved in several cultural and humanitarian organisations in Europe and abroad.
