Managing Director, Jacobs Foundation; Switzerland
The steadily growing acknowledgment of the private sector, that integrating the wellbeing of individuals and communities in the core priorities and performance measurement systems of the business sector is imperative if sustainable development shall be achieved, is a very promising but still fragile development. In order to embark on and further catalyse this trend, the Jacobs Foundation as a private philanthropic actor has entered into a strategic partnership with the platform CocoaAction of the 11 globally leading cocoa and chocolate companies in order to further strengthen the planned integration of community development – with a specific focus on educational outcomes of children and youth – within the core sustainability strategy of the whole sector.
Sandro Giuliani has a background in business administration from his MBA studies at the University of Zurich and also holds a Master of Advanced Studies in development and cooperation from the ETH Zurich.
From 1999 to 2009, Sandro Giuliani worked for Pestalozzi Children Foundation, most recently as head of its international programs and member of the Board of Directors.
